Managing Director, Inditex-Zara Greater China
Victor started as a management consultant in Asia where he has spent more than 13 years. He joined Inditex Group in 2003 where he held the role of Country Manager in Ireland. At Inditex he was soon appointed to take on a bigger challenge: leading the establishment, expansion and sourcing of the Inditex Group in Greater China. In this role he oversees markets such as Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, South Korea and India.
From the opening of China's first Zara store in Shanghai in 2006, Inditex's footprint has grown to over 100 stores in various Chinese cities to date. Victor believes in a hands-on approach when it comes to developing the business and is on a daily basis overcoming challenges relating to managing relations with local government officials and other internal and external partners, winning suitable locations and understanding the Chinese consumer.
He is a mentor to many young students by helping them enter into schools and by guiding them in their career choices in order to help them reach their full potential. Victor has a passion for classic cars and is a fervent traveler. So far he has been to 80 plus different countries. Since 2001, Victor participated in the MBA Master in Business
Administration, Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University) (USA & HK) and received its MBA in 2003.
